I want to be a volunteer for an animal shelter or SPCA or something, but I'm worried I'm too young: I'm only 11.

I became an Ohio resident approx 10 years ago (moved here from Boston). It saddens me to say this but I must admit, I don't recall hearing about "Make A Difference Day". Besides working through an organization, such as the American Red Cross, Diabetes Assoc., or United Way, does Columbus/Deleware have smaller, or neighborhood type of organizations that look for volunteers?

Please accept my heartfelt thanks. I hope others will follow your example! If we, as a society, did a little something nice for someone else daily, the world would be a better place to live.

A very inspiring article. I'll share it on FaceBook so that more people can be inspired. Volunteering is a great way to add meaning to life.

I think what the girls did is wonderful, but instead of buying the cards, they should ask for donations. I could probably send 50 cards myself. Let me know if you want them and what address I should send them to. Keep up the good work.
